Congratulations on the 16th DMZ International Documentary Film Festival.

For the last 16 years, the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival has been continuously introducing the audiences with the documentary genre that spotlights the hidden side of the world from new perspectives. The festival now has become a documentary film festival representing Asia beyond Korea.

This year, the DMZ International Documentary Film declared a slogan, “Act Out for Friendship and Solidarity,” and talks about the meanings of tragic war and far but inevitable peace at DMZ, the world’s only division site. I sincerely hope that the festival would be an opportunity to share your life once again through documentaries.

I ask for love and support from global K-movie fans and audiences, and I also send my deep gratitude to film festival staff for their hard effort as well as Korean and global filmmakers, actors, and audiences for visiting the film festival. The DMZ International Documentary Film Festival has been trying its best to discover and develop the documentary creators who meet the needs of the time, and the Korean Film Council sincerely supports the film festival for its continuous contributions.
