Synopsis

After graduation, Na WANG accepted a job arranged by her family and joined a large corporation as an employee. As her work experience grew, she adapted to her job and it got less stressful. But, her stress was replaced by the expectations of her family, who wanted her to start a family, have children, and pay off her loans etc.

After graduation, Zhi-Heng FU found that his hometown needed a bookstore, so he opened an independent bookstore in June 2021. He has been reluctant to accept his family's expectations and arrangements for life, and even though it was very likely that he will lose money when opening an independent bookstore right when the covid-19 epidemic was worst in Taiwan, he just wanted to do what he wanted to do and still wants.

Na WANG and Zhi-Heng FU are exemplary for the two ways young people today can choose to live: one strives for stability and one pursues personal happiness. Both kinds have their own difficulties, and both have to face the family¡¯s expectations. But how do they overcome these difficulties and what is it, that motivates them to go on with their way to live?
