Synopsis

"Women¡¯s fear that they would be stigmatized publicly and isolated from society caused by the leak of their sex video is far beyond ordinary people¡¯s imagination.

Nevertheless the government are sitting on their hands. Nowadays people who exploit the female images and make profits have been highly industrialized. Yet far from punishing them, the government don't take it serious."

Review

Facing and listening to someone helps recognize their individual uniqueness and subjectivity. The film opens with an interview showing close-up shots of women¡¯s faces. The focus is on the fact that each of these women, who can instantly become a victim of cyber sexual violence and get consumed as an anonymous body, is an individual carrying the weight of life. Individuals and society that participate in the wrongdoing are pushed to the opposite side where anonymity ensues. Their activities reveal the outrageous reality of cyber sexual violence. Videos that present women as sexual objects are systematically distributed as so-called hot contents without copyrights, and countless people take part in all this without realizing it¡¯s a crime. We witness the start of change at the hands of women who have been directly or indirectly exposed to this situation. Beginning with the individual subjectivity of women, the film depicts the influence of their solidarity. As a result, nameless women are pulled out from the frame of the weak and given a proper place. [Suan SEOL]
