I AM DOCU
Patrice Chagnard, Claudine Bories
Caroline and Colette are social workers. All day long, they receive families who are seeking asylum in France and assist them with the process. Every day, there are new arrivals from the four corners of the world. They come by charter plane and by covered truck. Caroline is young, impulsive and irascible. Colette, older, is compassionate and disorganized. Opposite them, the“arrivals”: exhausted, wounded and obstinate-exasperating at times and moving at others.
At the age of 17, Patriceran the Grenoble Film Club, the biggest club in France interms of members. Worked as an editor in chieff or magazines about television and directed documentaries for TV. Since 1977, he’s dedicated himself to directing documentaries. He was president at ADDOC, a group that brings together French documentary makers.
Claudine began her career in theatre. In 1968, she directed her first documentary. Between 1990 and 2002, she helped run a creative centre dedicated to documentary cinema in Seine Saint Denis, and started the Documentary Cinema Meetings. She was a president of ADDOC, a group that brings together French documentary makers.
