Synopsis

The memories of the mother are enshrined along the forest path of Gyeongui Line, which is in front of her house. With each daily walk along this path, her mind returns to the precious moments she spent with her mother.

Review

Where does true love or mourning originate? The Time of Walking in the Forest Path makes us realize that the answer lies within memories. The director records the landscapes of urban walking paths in a mundane manner. Over these landscapes captured from the director's perspective, the voices of the director and their mother unfold. The conversations between the mother and daughter continue even after the mother's illness begins. Even as the director walks alone on a snow-covered path, a song from their shared birthday celebration with their mother echoes in the background. The lingering feeling makes the director sense that through personal records, they have turned the forest path of the bustling city, traversed by countless people, into something solely their own with their mother. It's truly a poignant and beautiful way of mourning.
