Review

Following was completed after the impeachment motion was upheld in March 2017 and the last candlelight rally was held in April. For that reason, it could review what the candlelight rallies in the square mean to us, in more depth and detail. While pay attention to the various voices, the shouts and the passion emanating from the square, , composed of three documentaries, examines the victory in the square and the other side of it in a calm and orderly way. As the candles of the square were lighted on October 29, 2016 and that it came out into the open what had happened under Park Geun-hye government, more and more citizens gathered in the square.

(Kim Hwan-tea) revolves around the story of Park Jin and Kim Duk-jin, two activists in 'People's Action for Immediate Resignation of President Park Geun-hye¡¯, carrying candles together in the square at the moments of the new history written by citizen's power, from the impeachment motion of the National Assembly to upholding the impeachment in the Constitutional Court. While it focuses on the meaning of the square looked up by the conversation and commentary of two activists who have observed it more closely than anyone, (Choi Jong-ho) tries to listen carefully to each of the people who visit the square with family, with friends or by oneself. (Kim Su-mok) poses the question how the candlelight in the square could lead to our everyday life, through the voice of the people, including a woman worker participating in a candlelight rally for the first time, an independent businessman who could not have attended in the rally, and three young people going out to the square every weekend. The working conditions for temporary employee have not changed, and the situation of independent businessmen hasn't improved in the advancing recession. The youth preparing for employment still feel insecure about their futures. Though all carry the candle help us experience the moments like a miracle, the film let us know that we still need the power of the candles in order to change the conditions of our lives.
