From the beginning of the Lee Myung-bak administration in 2008 till today, a total of 17 journalists have been dismissed. They were not extraordinary fighters, just tried to follow the rules as a journalist. Most of them were not the union leadership, rather average journalist if they were in the other era. Their fights against their noble press cringing to the authorities got bigger against their own will and when unexpected letters of dismissal reached to them, they were driven to face everyday struggle which was supposed to be a temporary fight. After 7 years, the reality they face is desperate.

7 Years-Journalism Without Journalist is a documentary focusing on drifting journalism reality with dismissed journalists fighting against the reality. In a society where resist becomes dull and the power becomes more powerful, most journalist who once stood comparison with dismissed journalists have surrendered themselves to inertial media control. It is hardly possible for them to get the job back, so they have constantly searched for the way to live as a journalist. But the fight gets tougher with continuous insult. Since the dismissal from major institutional press, some of them have worked for alternative media that put up a good show. Lost in struggle, but their present life holding long-term positivity seems bitter but touching. [Kim Young-jin]​
