Synopsis

Lee Dam is a coffee traveler who takes along Poongman, his coffee truck, across the country. Lee¡¯s trip is far from luxurious—the truck is without air conditioning, and his budget tight. Wherever he goes, however, there are people who greet his coffee, not to mention endless conversations. In this

process, Lee learns that coffee and life share many things in common. Lee¡¯s journey is a like video message, or a cup of coffee, which offers some downtime we all need in our busy lives.

Review

Windy Coffee Road is words written on Poongman, the coffee truck. The owner of Poongman, Lee Dam travels the whole country sharing manual drip coffee with beans he roasted. Following the windy coffee road, his life resembles nomad. Like as always, Lee Dam, as an unaffected figure, shows his love and philosophy on coffee in the time with coffee. With finely ground coffee beans, a cup of coffee is filled with rest, dream, and a piece of life of Lee Dam and people. Director Hyun Jin-sik, a leader and guitarist of the band FauloCity, completed this film Windy Coffee Road smells like coffee covering Lee Dam¡¯s journey after he traveled with Lee Dam for one year and a half. The director who has focused on thought fragments melt in daily lives through artistic works like film and music now concentrates on Lee Dam¡¯s journey that shows lives involved with each other¡¯s we usually passed by. Here the black and white screen like a color of coffee strictly excludes hindering factors and stimulates sense of hearing, smell, and taste that lead us to feel life and sincerity inside a cup of coffee. The film goes as the wind shows its flow accompanying the life and carries composure. [Choi Hui-suk]
