Despite using the usual methods of social networking sites, phone-calling, and emails to reach out to the famed Korean director, the documentary about the teenagers’ sincere yearning to meet him is refreshing. The teenagers use the shaky camera method to make their conversations more dynamic. Although their conversation is vulgar, their interviews reflect how much they prepared in advance to achieve their goal of meeting the director. The final destination of this film may not be meeting Director BONG Joonho. However, one thing is for certain; Director BONG Joon-ho inspired these teenagers for them to want to meet him. The teenagers meet many grownups along the journey to seek the director. The teenagers may have initiated this odyssey, but the grown-ups are the ones who are reminded of their humble beginnings. Many grown-ups including Director BONG Joon-ho are touched by the teenagers’ courage. They cheered the youth on as if cheering for themselves. What kind of stories do the teenagers want to tell Director BONG Joon-ho? Just like the i JEONG Ha-rim, LEE Ji-yeon, PARK Gun-sik diom “None but the brave deserve the fair,” I applaud all future filmmakers.
