CHO Jae-hyun
Festival director CHO Jae-hyun planned and directed the 5th festival¡¯s trailer. He wanted to cast a non-actor for the main character, so he asked the Korea Senior Citizens Association-Gyeonggi for help. Coincidently, they found an old man named KIM Sung-soo, who happened to t the concept of the trailer video. He makes a living by picking up cardboard boxes, and his wife is a displaced person. The process of the production was obviously an unfamiliar experience to KIM, yet he enables us to fully empathize with his beloved wife and feel the pain of the divided nation. His emotional expressions moved director CHO Jae-hyun as well. Through this trailer of KIM¡¯s daily life, CHO hopes the younger generation in this era of the divided nation would appreciate the meaning of peace.
