This documentary is one of the representative films of director, Herz FRANK. He kept up the traditions of the Riga School of Poetic Documentary Cinema and cultivated students. As you see the film title, you may be able to guess that the film’s running time is ten minutes. The time that passes on screen is identical to the real time. The ten minutes is shot in one take, where it shows a variety of children’s facial expressions that are sitting in the audience seat, with no dialogues or showing us what is being screened or performed. It only shows us the various expressions along with music. The high contrast of light from the black and white screen stresses the children’s facial expressions. The power of this film is that the story flows well from its subtitle ‘Good and Evil’ appears in the opening credits. (Jinna LEE)
