Review

Fox Maxy focuses on the identity of Native American Indians, and her films are addictive. F1ghting Looks Different 2 Me Now combines various audio-visual elements, such as camcorder images, iPhone sound, archive images, and contemporary music, to present a stimulating journey to the audiences. The unconventional approach shows her strong ego, and it constructs an independent world inside scenery, relationships, and sound to challenge the conventional visual arts. In this film, Maxi utilizes montage and soundscapes to depict the struggles of natives in a lively and witty way. This conceptual film expand the dominant narratives and challenge them.
