Synopsis

Summer of 1950 sparked the beginning of the Korean War. As a police action the United Nations sent 16 member nations to uphold peace and democracy in South Korea. One of these countries was the Philippines who arrived in September of 1950. Very little is known about the Philippines¡¯ participation in the Korean War, let alone the soldiers who fought for democracy. These are their memories, the memories of the Forgotten. The Forgotten War is a story that recounts a story from one of the four Battalion Combat Teams (BCTs) that visited Korea in the 1950¡¯s under the United Nations Command. It recreates important battle scenes and shares the stories of the soldiers as they faced adversity in a foreign land, finding courage, dedication, and strength amidst the tragic backdrop of War. Philippines director Carlo Marco Cruz¡¯s film is a humble offering to the men who fought in a War that we failed to remember. I pray that they only be remembered after this is, and no longer Forgotten.
