Synopsis

On the 16th of April 2014, the Sewol Ferry sank Testimonies unveiled numerous eye-witness statements of the incident Sewol ferry’s course data lost Utilizing the Science of Analytics in Investigation 4 years of persistency. What really happened that day?

Review

The film was released in April this year and topped the third-best-selling documentary with 540,000 viewers. It produced a syndrome of documentary, following My Love, Don't Cross That River (2014) and Old Partner (2008), and the hypothesis about the Sewol ferry sinking of which it has followed the verification process is still the subject of controversy. As a documentary of investigative journalism publicly released at the turning point of the times spirit under candlelight vigils and regime change, it has raised over two billion wons in the crowdfunding and has done many things from the data collection to the examination of hypothesis with CG. It has the shocking content that tries to uncover the secrets of "that day," collecting the materials based on the Sewol ferry route data and declaring that hypothesis is a fact through the investigations. The hypothesis is still continuing with argument and rebuttal. The film produces the power to judge by cold reason in a style of distanciation strange to the audiences who likes human documentary but can hardly spare their tears. [JEONG Minah]
