Documentary has consistently experimented with various forms. Mr. Yellow Sweatshirt made in one shot, Ah, Humanity! and the works by the Harvard Sensory Ethnography Lab that drive the sensory experience to the extreme, the animated documentary, VR documentaries, CCTV-based films, etc., we prepare a chance to look at the documentary genre that has responded dynamically to the possibilities of new expression style and technology. In times like these, when a documentary film is ‘exhibited’ in the gallery as a piece, we will being project again onto the screen the documentary that has transferred to the gallery, through the comparative screening of two works by Paik Jongkwan, Cyclical Night designed in single-channel projection and Anticipation of the Night two-channel projection which is frequently used in the gallery.
